We have had our trip to the world planned for months, but due to free dining starting later this year (we traveled the last week of august the past two years and are traveling mid august this year), we didn't get the free dining. DH and I were trying to plan what FEW TS we would do (since paying out of pocket and trying to budget) and needless to say, he says.... "why don't we just do the dining plan?!?!" Does he realize how much work went into this the past two year, we are seven weeks out. Am I going to get any GOOD reservations for then? A couple of our favorites have been Ohana and Whispering Canyon Cafe. Any tips or suggestions. We are a family of four (for this trip, lol)... DH, me, DD (19), DS (16), so needless to say, all adults but DH is the one that really loves this apetizer, entree, desert every sit down meal... and he won't gain a pound. Will I still be able to get any good reservations?

I'd call and see if you can get ADRs that you are happy with and THEN add the DDP. If you give them the days of your visits and the times you'd like to eat, they'll tell you what's available. Just plan to spend quite a bit of time on the first phone call to get the initial reservations. Then check in w/ the family and call back to make any changes.

You may be surprised to find that you get exactly what you want. You may need to be willing to take lunches vs dinners at some meals or earlier/later than desired times, but, with the exception of hugely popular locations, you can probably get the ADRs you want. (You may even find something new that becomes a favorite!)
