Well, beginner's luck may be more than just a cliche. After reading all of the very helpful hints on this incredible board about calling for priority seating at Cindy's, my wife and I got up early on the 60th day before we wanted to eat there, and started calling at 6:55 a.m. Eastern Time (5:55 our time). We were sitting in front of our computer, with a cable modem, on the "official" time website http://www.time.gov. I used our portable phone and she used a cell phone. We used the (407)WDW-DINE number, which I had converted to numbers the night before so we didn't have to try to figure it out that early in the morning. Of course, the first time, we each got the message that it was closed, but by calling early, the number was now available for each of us just to hit "redial" to keep trying again and again. Eureka, at 6:58, on my phone, the recorded message didn't say they were closed, but went on to say, "To make ..." That was enough for me to quickly punch 1, and within seconds, a Disney reservationist was asking me how many people were in our party. (Notice she didn't ask which restaurant I was calling about. I guess they don't get a lot of calls at 6:58 a.m. for anyplace else, huh?) Voice trembling with excitement, I told her we needed a place for 3 on Friday, December 13, and we got 9:40 a.m. I took it! (I guess Friday, the 13th this time was lucky.) After I gave her the credit card info to hold the seating, she said, "Congratulations on your reservation," probably the first time I've ever heard that phrase.
So it's a longshot, but somebody has to get through. Good luck!
