Reservations as a gift

My daughter is getting married in October. She and her future husband are going to WDW for their honeymoon. They have made their reservations. My husband and I are AP holders [for both parks].

Does anyone know if there is way that we can reserve their room and pay for it with our AP? [That is assuming we can get AP rates for November!]

The AP holder is the one whose name is on the reservation so I don't think this would work unless you want to go on thier honeymoon with them.

My MIL tried to do the same thing for us, but since she was not with us at check in, we could not use her discount. She asked if she could have the reservation in her name, put the room on her charge card, and us use her AP they said that she had to be there checking in.

Any limit to the number of rooms you can book? I'm planning on paying for my parents and my in-laws rooms for a weekend around the first part of December as a combo birthday-Christmas present. So, that would be 3 rooms. Everyone is a Florida resident, and my family and my in-laws are AP holders. Does anyone see any problem with me booking and paying for all the rooms?

I think you are allowed to book 3 rooms on your AP. And yep you can book and pay for all 3 rooms yourself. They will send each family a confirmation. At least that is what they did with us in May. The In-laws took all 9 of us and paid for the whole trip. I made all the arrangements, and paid for everything with their CC. All she had to do was pay the bill when it came in! I got the easy part!

You can book up the three rooms but at least ONE of them is suppose to have the AP holder in it! The reservation notes who booked it also. They can and sometimes do ask for the AP and if it's not there then the rate goes up to rack rate. (I have been asked for mine and also know that they can look up in the system to see if I have an AP in advance.)
