Hi there,
I was just wondering if you have a dinner reservation on July 4th and the park closes due to capacity, will you still be able to enter the park??

Thanks.

It depends on the level closure. If it is at the highest level of closure, NO ONE gets in - ADR or not.

That hasn’t happened for a long time - like maybe 10 years? The two closures this holiday season were lower level. I believe you would’ve been allowed in with an ADR.

Exactly. Phase 4 closure is the only level at which NO ONE is allowed in. And according to Touring Plans, the last time Phase 4 was reached was MK on April 7, 2009.

1) No.
2) Absolutely not.
3) Closed due to capacity is closed for everyone.
4) Your best bet for July 4th, is to get to the park late in the morning or early in the afternoon and "tough-it-out" until meal time.
. . . New Year's Eve is HUGE for fireworks
. . . Fourth of July is almost as bad
. . . I have yet to see a July-4th NOT be closed due to capacity at MK (other parks are ok)
5) EVERY YEAR people get rejected and kept out of the park for their ADR, thinking it is a way to get into a closed park.
6) Nope.
7) If it were possible to use the ADR as entry, LOTS of folks would abuse the privilege and just make an ADR to gain entry for the fireworks.

PS - If you make and ADR, and are shut out due to capacity closures, you will be charged the r$10/person No-Show Penalty, since WDW considers it you responsibility to arrive at the park in time and gain park entry. Plus, during such high-demand days, there is usually no "courtesy" or Grace Period for being late to an ADR, as there are so many others waiting. Your ADR can be cancelled and the No Show Penalty applies.

Doesn't it depend on the level of closure though? I've always been under the impression that no one was allowed in at a phase 4.

On New Year's Eve 2017, the Magic Kingdom at 11:30 AM, Disney sent a text alert announcing that they were no longer allowing guests into the park. I had a reservation for the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party for the 6:30 PM (early) show of Fantasy in the Sky. Concierge at the GF told me that we'd have no problem being let in with that reservation. We arrived at the park at 5PM and were admitted, no problem.
