Reservation with Banked Points Question

-I'm an owner at BCV, April use-year.
-We always visit the first week of June.
-We have an October 2021 reservation at SS for about 120 points.
-I'll need to make our June 2022 reservation in the next few weeks.
-We have PLENTY of 2022 points to make that reservation, so that part's not a problem.

But...If I decide sometime soon to cancel our October SS trip, I'll be banking those 120 points into 2022.

Will DVD then use these banked points for that preexisting reservation? (In other words, returning my 2022 points to me, and utilizing my banked 2021 points for the preexisting 2022 reservation.)

I was told by Guest Services at BCV that they would, but it would require a phone call. Has anyone else had experience with that?

It is not automatic, but if you "rebook" online (modify the existing reservation without making any changes) it will reallocate the points used. It will use banked / borrowed points first and then use current UY points.

As mentioned it's not automatic but you can call in and ask MS to reallocate the banked points to the June reservation or you can do it yourself online via modifying the June reservation. The system is set up to pull the points banked points before the current although it won't look like it until you finalize and then MAGIC!

Nope, no unbooking. Just modify it without making any changes. Nothing is at risk of being lost.

Just for clarification...are you sure about your years? An October 2020 reservation would have occurred last fall. Reservations for June 2021 are occurring now or very soon. If you're banking April UY points, you would be banking 2021 points into 2022.

One more point to add, make sure to cancel prior to 30 days before the start of the reservation or they go into holding (although I'm sure you know that)
