Reservation Waitlist

Could someone explain how the waitlisting works for a reservation waitlist. I rented points for a vacation in November and I am on the waitlist for BWV for the 1st 3 nights. Do they automatically "load' your waitlisted nights as other ressies are cancelled???? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!!!

My take on the waitlist is that when the 3 days become available the owner will get a call to book or not to book. If your waiting on early November good luck. Between Jersey week, Super Soap weekend, and the last part of the Food and Wine things can be tight at the BWV. I do have a question for you, If these days do not come through do you have an alternative plan?

The owner will no longer get a call, all waitlists are now automatic. If it becomes available, it will be booked automatically. The owner would need to check the DVC member website to see if it has come through.

I don't think MS calls anymore, the waitlists are automatic.

I have a similar question. Is it wise to be put back on the waitlist after the 31 day mark if you don't get what you want?

If you still want the change, I would re-ante after 31 day mark. I assume that the reason they use this mark is that cancellations start to incur rules after this. As long as you are ok with the fact that new rules apply to the points, you should be ok. I plan to stay on BCV until the last possible moment for F&W in Oct.

Sorry to hijack the thread, would there be any fees involved if the ressie changed after the 31 day mark? We have a 2 bedroom at SSR reserved but we are waitlisted for a 1 or 2 bedroom at BWV. This is our first ressie so I don't know all the rules yet.

If the new reservation takes less points than your original reservation, those extra points will go into a holding status. They can only be used to book reservations less than 60 days out, and can not be banked into next use year. There are no monetary penalties.

Thanks, with a December use year and 2005 points that wouldn't be a good idea than.
