How early can you arrive before your scheduled reservation time?

It depends on the restaurant. Some places we have arrived 15 minutes before and they checked us in other times was told it was too early to come back 5 minutes before.

hoping we are done eating and have plenty of time to get settled before the night time show.

You are able to digitally check in for your reservation 15 minutes early.

we have checked in early sometimes like 20-25 mins and been seated right away... I guess its hit or miss if they are busy or have cancellations

You can always go up an ask if they can get you in earlier. It depends on how busy the restaurant is if they are able to accommodate you. We were an hour or more early at Tiffins once and they got us in (we would've had no issue waiting if they couldn't, but figured we'd ask as we were ready to eat then), but it wasn't busy at all.

In the app you will be able to check in 20 minutes early. For places I wanted an earlier reservation for than what I had, I just kept trying to modify and see what popped up. Worked every time
