We finally decided last night on dates for our WDW trip in February. We are going to stay 11 nights. I looked at the Canadian deal that is out right now but we decided that we need 'room only' reservations as we have several hopper passes with one day left on them. I looked at the Disney website and noticed that you could not make reservations on-line as they were updating the reservation system. I called CRO and spoke to a cm who told me that he couldn't check for availability for February because it is too far away and because the reservation system was being updated it wouldn't allow him to look at February. I repeated back to him what he had said to me and he confirmed that I understood. He told me to call back in 5 days. This morning I thought that this seems kinda weird as the Canadian special runs through February. So are they telling everyone who wants to book in Feb. to call back in 5 days? The website still says that the reservation system is being updated. I guess when I finally had concrete dates I wanted to get my reservations right away. I may call again tonight or tomorrow to see if I get the same response.

The system won't be up and running until Monday afternoon (at best).

Disney is only taking reservations for travel before December 31st during the system outage. Therefore, given the fact that you are not traveling until February, you will have to wait until Monday to make you reservation, sorry.

Details for this outage are as follows:

The Walt Disney World reservation system will undergo a scheduled upgrade later this week to install new software. During this time, existing Walt Disney World packages and room reservations will NOT be available for access.

Q) When will this outage occur?
A) System upgrade begins Thursday afternoon (October 19) and is scheduled to end Monday afternoon (October 23)

Q) How will this affect me if I'm staying at the Walt Disney World Resort during this outage?
A) Guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort will see little - if any - impact as a result of this outage. We encourage guests to use Express Check-Out from their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to ensure a smooth check-out process during this outage.

Q) What if I want to book my vacation during this outage?
A) Reservations will be taken. However, estimated rate quotes will be provided and confirmations for new bookings, modifications or payments will not be sent until after the upgrade is complete.

Q) What WILL be available during this outage?
A) The following items will continue to be available and booked as normal:

• Disneyland Resort packages and tickets
• Disney Cruise Line vacations
• Walt Disney World dining, recreation (including golf) and tours reservations
• La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil tickets

Q) What if I have a payment due during the outage?
A) The Disney Reservation Center will continue to accept payment information. However, confirmations for payments will not be sent out until after the upgrade is complete.

Q) Why is the outage happening?
A) Like any business, we continually evaluate new technology and invest in systems that allow us to maintain the best service possible. This outage will be used to install new software so that our reservation system continues to operate at maximum performance.
