Reservation Status Points?

When looking at potential resales to buy, what does it mean when points are in reservation status? Do they have to be used the current year, can they be rented/transferred etc.? Appreciate any insight.

When points are used for a non-DVC reservation and later cancelled, they are Reservation Points. They may only be used for non-DVC options and may NOT be used at DVC resorts or the WorldPassport Collection.

I don't think they can be transferred or banked, but I'm sure someone will correct that statement if wrong.

2005-2006 Vacation Planner, pg 24, Footnote (fine print):
"*Restored Reservation Points may not be used for Disney Vacation Club Resorts or World Passport Collection exchanges and will expire at the end of your Use Year."

Underline added by me. I would interpret that to mean they cannot be banked or transferred.
