Let me start by saying I am sorry for all the questions, but I am new and Don't know anything yet.

We are looking at booking a trip into a non-home resort at the 7 month mark. I know that the quicker I make the reservation the better chance of getting the resort/category I want.

Here are the problems.
We are thinking about taking a set of grandparents but we don't know which ones yet.

We are looking at booking a 2 bedroom(hopefully Lock-off)

now for the questions.

Do I have to include everyone when we first book or can we add people later as long as the room is not over capacity?

If I book the DDP, I think you pay for it right away, what happens if you add people or change which plan is best for your trip.

If we book a 2bed and no one can go, can we change to a 1 bed if we have to?

I would need to combine points from 2 contracts to get the number I need, what would be the best way to get the reservation I am thinking about?

You can book the two bedroom villa and add people afterwards.

To book a two bedroom and change it for a one bedroom, you have to cancel the two bedroom and hope a one bedroom villa is available. Even if you get a lockoff, you can't just drop the studio. You cancel and rebook. And during that time your lockoff or dedicated two bedroom villa goes to the person on the top of the waitlist.

If you have two member numbers, you can only transfer points from one to the other to book at one time. Otherwise, you book part of your stay with one membership and the rest with your other membership. But if you have one UY, one membership, but two or more contracts, you can combine them anyway you like at seven months out.

For example, I had a few VWL Sept points and more OKW Sept points. I used them plus borrowed points to make a seven night stay. I wanted to add two more nights and needed to use my Dec OKW points. So I waited until I was 7 months out from the next two nights and booked two more nights with the Dec points. Then I contacted MS to link the two reservations.

Add the DDP later on, at least 48 hours before check in. I suggest that you research menus and DDP benefits and cost. For a lot of people depending on what you eat, the DDP can cost more than paying OOP. More than one trip in 13 months, check out the TIW card?
