Reservation questions

We went last year during free dining & I plan to book on Tuesday but I have a few questions.

1. Should I go to AAA today & have them put a hold on the rooms? At least this way I know I can change it tomorrow for the dining upgrade.
2. We are still not sure to fly or drive. We want to book Sun - Sun with the possibility to leave on Sat. The CM I spoke to said that it is easier to cancel a day then to add one on later. Will I get a refund for the early departure? What is the cancellation policy w/Disney.

If you go to AAA today to put a hold on the room, they cannot put a hold on one of the free dining rooms, they can only put a hold on A room. So, it will not guarantee you that you will get free dining for your particular reservation. If there are no rooms left at your resort that have been designated for free dining, you'll have to either change resorts or dates. This happened to me last year when AP rates came out. I had a AAA room-only ressie at CSR. When AP rates came out, my TA wasn't able to get an AP room rate for my resort. I could change resorts or change dates but I wasn't going to get what I wanted when I wanted it.

You will need to make a $200 deposit on the package, regardless of how many days you reserve. If you book Sun. - Sat. now and decide to add the extra day a week from now, you may find that there are no rooms left for that Sun. However, if you book Sun.-Sun. now and decide to leave on Sat., you can make changes up to 45 days prior to your arrival date with no penalty. After that, it will cost you $50 to make any changes to your package.
