I have a few questions regarding AP holders, FL residents, and Disney CardHolders. So our group will need 3 rooms total. We have a family of 4, a family of 2, and another family of 2... My parents are one of those rooms and they're FL residents, AP Holders, and Disney Card Holders as well. What are the rules of them making the reservations for all of us? Either Hotel only or Packages? They wanted to treat us all to a Disney Vacation but they are the only ones who have all 3 of the above discount options. We are hoping for Free Dining, but I am not sure how that would work. Nor do I know how it would work for them to get a package discount or room only discount. Anyone have any ideas or tips on how to do this? Obviously they want to get the best deal possible with it being a pretty big amount. I hope that all makes sense?!?! TIA~

You will need to price it out and see what works best for your situation and family. We never do free dining because we don't spend that much on food and would rather get a better room discount. Financially it works out better for us.

For my trip three weeks ago we had an ap with us and she was able to book three rooms under her discount. They were room-only discounts.

If you call they should be able to give you all your pricing options. Just give them a list and they will give you the pricing.

Thank you! That's what we were looking at is how many rooms she could book. We aren't counting on Free Dining as that's usually "Jersey Week" and it seems like it's not offered during that time. But we're not ruling it out either. For us, financially it would be better for free dining, but I refuse to purchase a dining plan. Do you happen to know if they can apply the room only discounts to current reservations when they come out? I know with the free dining you can't, but am not sure on room only.

Free Dining requires a minimum ticket purchase for everyone in the room 3 years and older, even AP holders, although they could save their tickets and apply them to the price of the AP renewal. The most recent FD offer required a minimum of 2 day tickets with either the Park hopper or Water Parks and More add on. Also, the room will be at rack rate - no room rate discounts allowed for FD.

I know... still hopeful though LOL. They're AP's will be up for renewal right around vacation time, so that would work out for them regarding the passes. I just know at times AP, FL resident, or cardholders get first dibs at discounts. I'm just wondering with them paying for everything and wanting to make the reservations for all 3 rooms, how that would work regarding them being FL residents if the free dining would be released for that group? Could they still make the reservations for the 3 rooms for free dining with only them being FL residents and then have the other rooms NOT be required to be FL residents. We aren't looking for a way to get any FL resident passes, but just wondering how that FL resident discount would work for them paying? I'm starting to confuse myself! LOL

In my experience, discounts are usually released in the following order: Disney Visa, then general public, then AP and Florida Residents.

Since I am qualified for all the above discounts, I have experienced that each discount may offer different percentages off, and different room categories. So my advice is that if they see something that is acceptable to their budget, grab it when available, because if something better comes along later reservations can either be changed to the better deal or cancelled and rebooked.

Sorry I can't answer any of your other questions, as I only ever book room only and never need multiple rooms.

That helps a lot! Thank you so much!
