Ok. We've been members since 2007. Our friends just joined today at the same resort as us (AKV):thumbsup2 Both families want to plan a trip in 2013 and stay together in a 2BR using both our points. How is this done? Can one of us make the reservation or do we have to call together?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

:)I believe you could do a once per year transfer into one or the other memberships. Our you could split the stay with them say they do 3 nights in a two bedroom and you do 3 nights in a two bedroom--you may have to switch rooms. Why not just get two-one bedrooms? I mean I understand the fun of staying togther but it may just be easier to get your own reservations. What if something happens last minute...they can't go and you are using part of their points for a trip or something. Just asking :thumbsup2

I recently did this with a friend. We're staying 6 nights at VGC in September. I booked all 6 nights and then on day 4 she called and booked the last 3 nights with her points and I cancelled my last 3 (we wanted to be sure we got it). When I called to cancel the last 3 under mine, I gave them her reservation # and asked for the reservations to be linked. I got a new reservation for all 6 nights with both our reservation #'s in the comments. We've done this before, when we checked in, it was treated as one stay, we got keys for the entire time. One time I booked night 1, she booked night 2 (Friday), then I booked 2 more nights and all 3 were linked into 1 stay.

As noted, you can transfer and book it all or you can do two segments and link them. I do not believe you'll be able to do it online if you transfer, at least unless something changes. You also won't be able to book all days at 11 months out from separate accounts. If you have enough points, you can do what was described above to make sure you get the dates. If it wasn't available for the second half of the reservation and you'd reserved all the entire dates under one account, you MIGHT be able to transfer then substitute the points. You could also walk either or both reservations if you wanted.

We did this last year with a GV. I booked half the trip, and then we conferenced in our friends and they booked the last half with their points. It was super easy, and it all worked out great.

Two one-bedrooms would be far more points than one two-bedroom. Why wouldn't they want to stay together anyway? We often do that with our friends and have a great time. If one has to cancel at the last minute that's just the way it goes. The reservation has been made and it stands for those that can go. It's never been an issue as we've never had anyone need to cancel (and we've been doing this for almost 15 years).

Also, as has been said, if the two rooms are linked there will be no need to switch rooms. Disney will treat it as one continuous reservation. Easy peasy! :)
