I booked our trip back in April as a standard room in the WL for early September. This is my first time staying in a deluxe resort so we are super excited. It is also our first trip for our 2.5 yr old so we are expecting a very different visit this time around. Due to our excitement and not having booked a vacation in many years, I jumped the gun a bit and didn't do any deal hunting when I originally booked. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I caught wind of the Enchanted Escape offer and realized I could have saved quite a bit. I called to see if we could get the discount but there were no rooms available.
Then I began to hunt for reservations every day. It became an obsession of mine. I scored an 8:10 am Akershus dining reservation, Be our Guest, Ohana, Hollywood and Vine. I literally lucked out in everything by being persistent but the elusive Enchanted Escape offer seemed hopeless. That was until one morning I woke up and something funky happened in the search, it returned results in the Copper Creek Villas. Normally I was only searching for the WL and had no idea about the villas. Anyhow, I saw a studio with walk in shower that was cheaper than our original standard room! An upgrade for less! I immediately called reservations and explained I wanted to switch it. The CM was very nice and found the booking I was seeing and attempted to make the change. After awhile on hold he came back and said that it wouldn't go through and there was no room available. I asked him why I could see it online and if I could just attempt on my end. He said sure but that it wouldn't work in the same way his attempt did not. He claims he even called the Copper Creek to verify.
I hung up a bit bummed but decided to see if it would indeed fail if I tried online. Voilla it was like a few clicks and it updated our reservation and verified the new booking for a villa in Copper Creek! However, I am a bit terrified that we are going to show up and be walked or something. I have been keeping an eye on the openings and it still seems like CC has availability. Am I being paranoid or did I make a mistake to change from our original reservation?

, as resorts don't control their own bookings.
