Reservation in June...

I want to stay at BWV in either late August, early September, or the first 10 days of September, but I cant make a ressie until June 1st. What are my chances of getting a reservation? Is it too close? September IS a slow month- so do you think there are any chances? Thanks for your advice!

You won't know until you try. If you're willing to consider other resorts (with BWV being your first choice), you'll probably have a much better chance of finding accomodations. You're not waiting to make a ressie because you have a June use year are you? You know that use year has nothing to do with reservation windows, it only pertains to banking and borrowing.

No, its not the June use year, they're not my points, he said he cant make reservations until the 1st. I guess the points aren't available? Does that make sense? I guess I would stay at the BCV if i absolutely HAD to but I don't really want to. We just need a studio, I know I won't know untill I try but what do you think my chances are....slim to none? Hmmm..it sounds as though you're host member may have used all the current points, and needs to wait until June 1 to borrow points from his 2004 Use Year to make a ressie.

I would think that the BWV and BCV would probably be the hardest resorts to book, and OKW the easiest, simply because of overall size of the resorts. However, because of travel patterns this year, due to the Iraq situation, as well as the perceived SARS scare, your chances are better than "normal", even though "slow"seasons for WDW are often busy seasons for DVC.

Could the points be in a "holding" status, so he can't book more than 60 days out? Shouldn't he already be able to borrow 2004 points to make a reservation for this year?

What if he already borrowed 2004 points & is waiting for the NEXT years points to become available... is that possible?

As far as I know (I could be wrong) you can only borrow points one year ahead, so to use points that he will be allocated on June 1, 2004, he can not "borrow" them until June 1, 2003. He may have already used or obligated all of the points from the allocation he will get on June 1, 2003.

If they were in "Holding Status" they wouldn't be available June 1 for a ressie in late Aug or early Sept - that is more than 60 days out.

Anyway, good luck on your ressie As long as you're willing to compromise on the location, you'll probably be able to find a studio on property, and there is a good possibility you'll get lucky and get your first choice.

BTW, you know that all DVC resorts, except OKW, have a "real" bed and a sofa sleeper in the studios? OKW has 2 "real" queen size beds - if it makes any difference. Of course, you can't beat BWV/BCV for convenience to EPCOT and Disney/MGM Studios
