We are enbarking on our first Disney trip in April of 2008 and my deadline for reservations is coming up next week. In order not to overwhlem the kids we are planning on heading into Downtown Disney for the first night...hoping to have dinner there somewhere where we can sit down for something very casual. I like the idea of the Earl of Sandwich...do I need to make reservations for something like this?

No. Earl of Sandwich is a CS (Counter Service) and therefore you do not need to make ressies (ADRS) Enjoy! :upsidedow

Unfortunately it's a counter service. and unfortunately everytime I've been, the line has been really long. it would be nice if I could save a spot in line here though :rotfl:

The Earl Of Sandwich has great food and the prices are actually cheap compared to typical Disney prices. And they do no skimp of the amount of meat they put in the sandwiches. The lines do move fairly fast. I used to work in the Downtown Disney area and we used to order from there for our breaks quite often. For CS at DD, I highly recommend it!

I didn't see it listed on the restaurants/menus list at all....where is it located?

Tangierine Cafe: I didn't see it listed on the restaurants/menus list at all....where is it located?

The Tangierine Cafe is located in the Morocco section of Epcot. I personally think it is one of Epcot's hidden gems even though it is not really hidden. Most people walk right by it without giving it much thought. But the food is really good and it never seems to be crowded. The prices seem a bit high at first glance -- about ten dollars for a lamb or chicken sandwich. But it is a big sandwich and is quite good.

I have noticed that the line moves pretty fast, compared to other cs locations in WDW.

Oh. Well the last time we went there, we stood for 20 - 25 minutes in line. The line was pretty much wrapped all around the restaurant. Maybe I was just there at the wrong time.

Earl is much better than Tangerine Cafe, IMHO.

And yes, the line for Earl can be daunting, but rest assured it moves VERY quickly!
