Reservation for 6 ppl but there may be 7...

Has anyone had any luck showing up with an additional person for a reservation (Tusker House, specifically). One in the group is 2 years old, but I'm thinking he still needs his own seat. I couldn't book for 7.

You're correct, he will need his own seat even though he's 2. Whether they can fit him in is an iffy situation, as it depends on how busy the restaurant is at that time and will require that your group be seated at a larger table, i.e. an 8-top vs. a 6-top. I'd try to modify the ADR to be for a party of 8, because you won't be charged if you show up with only 7.
