Just received our confirmation letter for our first reservation in a two bedroom. :earboy2:

We requested a 2BR lock-off (since we're not yet certain who's accompanying us on the trip) rather than a dedicated 2BR. On our letter, however, it only says "TWO BEDROOM." I thought it was also supposed to indicate on the confirmation letter itself that our reservation is for a lock-off???

Also, will I have to tell MS how to allot/use our points for this trip (which involves some banking of this year's points). Do they automatically use banked points, or do you specifically have to tell them to do that, and if so, when do they need that information from me?

Thanks!!

Not sure about the lockoff question. Which resort did you book at?

On the second question, I always confirm my point balances by use year at the end of the phone call to make sure they used the points the way I wanted. A good cm will automatically give you the balances at the beginning and end of the call.

We booked at SSR, our home resort.

The CM told me how many points would be used for the reservation, but not *how* the points would be used.

Should I just call MS tomorrow to ask them about all this?

My confirmations have only said "2 bedroom" for about a year now. My theory is that members were showing up with thier confirmations saying they had one or the other and they had gotten moved to the other and through a fit. So now they don't put either lockoff or dedicated on the confirmation so if the resort has to move you, you can't pull your confirmation and throw a fit. This is just my theory and it is probably way off. But, that was the first thing that came to my mind when my confirmation showed up without Dedicated on it.

Okay, called MS and received the answers to my questions.

The CM first assured me that I have indeed reserved a lock-off even though it doesn't say that on the letter. (She asked if I had some kind of "TL" notation in the reservation #: that's what indicates a lock-off, and that is what is in their computer. While I don't have that on my letter, I quickly made a note of it for future reference; I now share that with you.)

Secondly, with regard to points, she assured me that MS always utilizes the oldest (i.e., ones that would be closest to expiring the soonest, in the event of banking future points, etc.) points first, unless the member requests otherwise. thus, my 2004 banked points will be used for my reservation (which is indeed what I wanted).

End result: I am indeed a happy camper!
