Reservation Calendar has all month still available

I am heading to DL and CA for 5 days with hoppers. We made our reservations ages ago, just after our dates opened. I went back to the calendar just to see which days were unavaialbe (assuming that would mean they would be busier) but it says all days are still available for July, August, etc. If they have just opened the floodgates why have reservations? Am I missing something?

Reservations are for staffing and crowd numbers. Park is back to 100% capacity.

And most MK are blocked. So I would guess the general ticket "bucket" is much larger for the summer in addition to the increased staffing to full capacity as mentioned above.
