Reservation By Phone, But Not Given As Many Options As Online

I see people mentioning they added ground trasfer? Not sure how that works

Are you asking what ground transfers are? They are the DCL transport from the airport or a WDW hotel to the port and back again.

You used to be able to add ground transfers online, add trip insurance, change dates, see pre and post hotels....you cant do any of that anymore. You have to call for everything.

It is so much more convenient for me to just go online. Is there anyway to see what DCL charges for the transfers and the hotel stay without calling? I want to compare prices before I have to call to book, if I book through DCL.

DCL transfers are $35 per person one-way ($70 round trip).

Other costs such as insurance, hotel, airfare, booked through DCL are going to depend on various factors. You'll have to call. I might suggest checking prices for those items on your own as they are usually less expensive that way rather than purchasing through DCL. I'd venture to say most DCL cruisers do not roll all that into the cruise reservation.

Enjoy your cruise!

$70 PP, roundtrip is a lot for a family of 4, just for a 2 hour roundtrip bus trip. Yikes!

Yep -- a private car service may be less expensive, but the break-even seems to be around 4 people. A car rental and driving yourselves to port is likely the least expensive option but requires more effort on your part. You'll have to weigh pros and cons based on your family's preferences. As a note, though, transfers can be added right up until you arrive at the airport for the cruise (it's best to book in advance), so you can work out transportation details after you book the cruise.

Definitely! I am an uber planner, so all the details will be finalized months before the trip! LOL

In my experience, the best car rental codes come out only a few weeks prior to renting... so keep that in mind if a rental is an option you'd consider. Many cruisers do 2 one-way rentals, but some report that a weekly rental plus parking fees is actually less expensive. It all depends on the discount codes at the time.

Also be aware that if you are planning a WDW resort for next summer, those rates aren't available yet and will be estimated based on 2016 rack rates. Again, discounts won't be out until next winter/spring.

Enjoy your cruise!

The hotel cost was included on our reservation. It was under "View Details" But it's not listed anywhere before you book it.

Not that I can see.

Our last cruise we were able to see more details than what I can see now. For example, i used to be able to click on the itinerary in the reservation details and it showed me the day that the sail away party was in and the pirate party. Now o don't see any of that.

Click on "Explore Activities" from your reservation. Then you get the full itinerary, click on each day to see what activities are planned. Sometimes the Pirate night is indicated there, sometimes not (mine isn't right now, but has been in the past). Sigh.

Sadly, mine isn't there either. And still no response from DCL on my travel insurance info. I know it's been a busy week for them. Hopefully, they can send it to me next week.
