I have an exchange thru II for dec. and when I attempt to make dinner reservations for the night of the MVMCP they want my disney conf. #. There isn't one. How do I get it. Last year I was told I couldn't call until about 3 weeks out to confirm the room as it was not put into the system yet.

There should be contact information on your II confirmation letter. You'll need to get the needed reservation number from DVC Member Services thru II.

Regardless, you shouldn't need a reservation # to make a dinner reservation. Just give them your phone number. You don't need to be staying on property to make an ADR, so it's not necessary to have a reservation #.

My guess is they're trying to do the 180 plus 10 days reservations and in that case they will need a Disney Reservation #.

Disney Travel doesn't have access to the DVC info anyway so just tell them you have a DVC reservation and they should allow the reservations. You could also go through DVC MS but something tells me they're not making dining reservations anymore for members or exchangers. Just double check because I am not certain. The DVC reservation # will be on your confirmation though if you do need it. It should be on the right side under the info that tells the resorts, dates, unit size, etc.

misread OP and am deleting comments as thought timeframe was wrong for making those ADRs anyway.

If you don't yet have the confirmation, you can ask II to email it to you, you should anyway if they didn't already, easier to keep up with. If you have an online accessible email account place a copy of that email with the attachment, along with a copy of other important documents (DL, insurance cards, etc) in a separate folder so you can access if when traveling if need be.

I have the II confirmation and the confirm. # on it pertains to II reservation system only. That conf. # can only retrieve your res. thru II it has no bearing on Disney. When my name gets sent from II to DVC (if that's where it goes) then they will input it into disney's res. system therefore generating a new conf. # that will be in the Dis system allowing for check in. This is the number that I need.

You are correct in that I am going for 180 +10. I also was also trying to call and make a res. for dinner for the night of MVMCP which is about 130 days out. That reservationist is the one that needed a conf. # to ensure that I was staying on property and she would have booked my dinner now.

You should have two numbers on it. On the left in the white area under your name and address should be a "Confirmation Number". That is the II reference number. On the right you should have the following.

Name and address of the DVC resort
Phone
Fax
Check-in
Check-out
Accommodations (1 Bedroom, 1 Bath)
Acccommodating (04 Privately, 04 Maximum)
Reservation #.

The last is the DVC reservation number. Again, dining will not have this number or access to it and that is true if you were a DVC member and reserved directly. Still, it is the DVC number of the original reservation that DVC made to give to II. If you call DVC MS, they can pull it up under this number even if they haven't yet changed the reservation into your name.

If your trying to reserve for a night and restaurant directly associated with the MVMCP, you should be able to do so independently of the other info whether you're staying on property or not. IF not, you're limited to 180+10 days from your check in date, which will be actually 180+0-7 in this case since all exchanges are a week. Disney Dining Can make the reservation now if you're within that window or reserving one of the restaurants specifically allowed for MVMCP. Good luck.

BTW, I was just talking to Marriott an hour ago adding requests and confirming view type for a unit gotten by exchange and looked up in exactly this same way.

Dean you're awesome. I found it!! Never thought to look over there before on any II reservation that I've had. It was funny though, the res. person that I was talking to at dining insisted on that conf. # before she would make my CRT res. for the MVMCP. I thought that was odd.:confused3 We booked 1 night at the end of our stay at WL full price and she let me use that number to move forward.

Thanks again!!!!!!!
