Reservation at 7 months

Ok...For those of you who do split stays and make reservations at the 7 month mark. I currently have booked May 1-9 at AKL. Would like to get BLT for the first 2 nights and the remainder nights at BC. Can I call on Oct 1 make the reservation at BC for the whole week and then just change the first 2 nights to BLT the same day? Or do I have to call the next day? I think I just confused myself more!!

you can make a reservation for 7 nights when the booking window opens.

so on oct 1, you can book may 1-2 at BLT (or the first 7 nights at BLT if you prefer.)

you'd have to wait till oct 3 to book may 3 for BCV for up to 7 nights.

Nope this won't work. If you try to change the first two nights they will make you cancel the whole week and rebook on the third. If you have enough points available you can book the week at BC and book the first two nights at BLT and then on the third cancel the first two nights of the BC reservation.

In the future what you could do is book the 7 nights at AKV as two separate reservations, and not link them as 2 nights, and then 5 nights. This way at the 7 month mark you could book the first 2 at BLT, and then 2 days later book the 5 days at BC. This way, you could get the 2 at BLT, and still have 5 reserved in case you don't get the BC. I'm pretty sure this is possible, especially if you are doing a 2 br as 1 reservation could be dedicated and the second lock off so it definitely is kept as two separate reservations.
