Long story. We booked a BLT standard view studio for 9 nights in July. At the 7month window we got the last 5 nights at Beach club (really excited to try beach club). We wanted the first four nights at BLT because we wanted to stay there for the 4th of July (easy access to TOWL for fireworks at MK and elsewhere they may be visible).

Then my mom decided she wanted to join us. Found someone to transfer points to us to cover a lakeview studio for her (at the time of transfer there was availability). Forgot I can't use transfered points online to book, had a busy week and never got a chance to call MS. Now everything is booked at BLT for July 4th. We even kicked around the idea of ditching our SV studio and getting a 1 br for all of us (4 of us and my mother) but even the 1 br are all booked up for July 4th. The nights we have are July 1-5. Check out on the 5th. She goes home, we move to Beach club until the 10th.

My question is should I book the 3 nights of a studio for July 1-4 now and waitlist the 4th for her? or should I just suck it up and move us all to VWL in 2 studio's and just try to go to TOWL for July 4th. Is July 4th a blackout day for TOWL for non BLT guests? I hate to waitlist it....have it not come through...and then have little to no options of even being at the same resort. I don't think my mother would even be interested in going at that point. Is a single night waitlist for July 4th likely to come through?

I'd get a 2 BR and move if necessary then WL BLT personally. For the 1 BR, I'd take the 3 nights and add a night at BCV if available. I'd then WL the last night. This would likely be my approach anyway for 5 people even if the extra studio were available. You could also do cash for the single night if needed.

Unfortunately Beach Club is booked for the 4th as well. I'm going to just book a studio for the 3 nights and WL for July 4th. I'll probably book a studio at VWL for the 4th for my mother and hope the WL comes through. My wife did NOT want to cancel our existing studio for us to waitlist a 1 br. and have it not come through.

I looked at a 2 br, but they are also all booked at BLT, and I don't really have the points to go to a 2 br. The 3rd and 4th of July are blackout dates for TOWL so I am definitely keeping our room there for the 1-5.

I'll probably book a studio at VWL for the 4th for my mother and hope the WL comes through. Good luck. We'd go for the 2 BR over location but I understand the other choices and preferences. You might get a cash room for the night needed instead if available while wait listing. I'd WL the 1 night in the view available and also for one other booking category for the entire 4 nights.
