I know this is controversial, but here goes. We plan on going to WDW in early December. someone else we know is going later in 2007. Is there anything to stop me from buying a 10 day non expiry hopper pass, using 5 days of it and then giving it to our friends for them to use and both of us split the cost? It would save roughly $100/ticket on the cost of a 5 day hopper.

The tickets will be issued to your name & your finger scan. When you give the tickets to your friend to use, they will go to scan their fingers & it won't work. Then the CM will ask to see an id that matches the name on the tickets. When your friend doesn't have one, the tickets will be confiscated & you won't get them back.

I don't think that you can do that, now that they have the little finger scanner thing. I was under the impression that once you use it...your imprint goes along with your card. Hopefully someone can give you better information. And if I am wrong...I'm so sorry.

We've still got an old park hopper that wasn't tied into the bio scan, would work on that tix. If we redeemed it @ gate, I'm told they'd switch it over to a MYW tix?

If you buy MYW tix as part of a pkg @ WDW, they are imprinted on your room key.

Even if you don't use them & save them for a future trip (perfectly permissiable, even w/base tix), the name is supposed to match the name of the person using the tix @ a later date.

Disney reserves the right to require you to show a photo id @ the gates.

no you can't do it. the card comes printed w. your name and eventually once you activate it, you will have your fingerprint on it. Your friends will have paid you half and then have to go and buy all new tickets once this does not work.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I love your signature picture of Mickey... is there anywhere I can find this picture bigger (for screen saver)?

Well, you already knew the tickets are non-transferrable. Now you know why Disney had to start using a biometric scan with the tickets-people tried transferring them anyway.

It wouldn't be a bad deal for your family but the second family wouldn't be too happy when the tickets don't work.

I found it on another message board (can't remember which one). Feel free to use it.

This is as large as I have it on my computer. I don't know how to make it bigger, but maybe someone else can. I want to have it made into a tee-shirt for my next trip. :rotfl:

Nope, its not possible to make a small computer image any larger and have it retain any kind of high quality (contrary to all the CSI-shows on TV that routinely do it all the time.) :rotfl:

There's a way to make it hq but you have to have a special program. I've seen medium sized ones with tags that people have taken tags off and made them hq.

Thinking about it abit and I decided that the old joke really wasn't appropriate even without the full punchline. Sorry about that.

I do agree with the others though about the tickets. It probably won't work and shouldn't be done.

Won't work, and may make the ticket worthless.

The information about the ticket including the finger dimensions is stored centrally (on Disney's computers). The magnetic strip onlyu contains index numbers to find the infomation on the central computers. If neither the magnetic strip nor the letters and digits on the back can be read, the ticket is worthless.

Agreed with seashoreCM.

BTW, wingdings, discussion of 'hacking the system' so to speak is not sanctioned on the DIS.

Hmm, then the system must have improved because when we went in 2004, it didn't matter who used what ticket in our three person group. We got in and were never asked for ID once.

Yes, it has. The biometric scan was implemented since then.

Plus with Group tickets the Bio charactoristics change. It's a long complicated story... so I'll make this post simple.

No, your scheme to cheat Disney will not work.

It's not that complicated. If a family of 4 buys 4 tickets, all 4 finger scans are stored on each ticket because they're marked as being in a group.
