Researching dvc & have a question

I am in the research stage and I know I read somwhere that the value of your points never change. Do I understand it correctly that they can change the individual room point values but not the total value of the point chart for each resort?

We have decided on a resale my husband just wants to make sure out value won't change!!

That is correct, the total points available in a year will not change. We have owned since 96 and I don't believe there has been any change except the dates for spring break high time.

We just bought at BCV and we were told that they could never go up on points. Thye could raise points for on time frame, but would then have to deduct points in another time frame for that resort. The word never was used when we were told this one week ago today.

You're referring to a reallocation of points. There has only been a reallocation of points one time, at OKW resort in 1996. BWV had an adjustment of points prior to opening to have a standard view point system and a preferred view point system.

Once a resort begins to sell, the points are fixed for the resort. The total allotment cannot change. They can reallocate, that is rearrange them, but cannot change the total.

If they raise point requirements somewhere, for instance a room type, or a season, then they have to reduce somewhere else the equivalent amount of points so as not to change the total.

Note this is for DVC resorts only. Points used for other purposes, such as cruise line, regular WDW hotels, etc, can, and do, go up.

This is in writing in the purchase agreements.
