We have reservations for Nov/Dec 2010. I have been laid off for the past 2 months. We have the insurance so we have until October to cancel, but instead of canceling, do they allow rescheduling, if we do it soon instead of waiting till October? Or do we need to reserve and repay for the insurance, etc.

Just so you know for the future. You can book a room/campsite only reservation and that way you can cancel either 5 or 6 days prior to arrival. If you have to cancel after that, they will let you apply it to another reservation. If you really want a package, you can add anytime. We've never purchased the insurance for that reason. Since I don't know what type of reservations you have, I don't know what your cancellation policy is. It used to be you could cancel 1 month prior to arrival. Hope this helps.:mickeyjum:mickeyjum

Thanx, that helps alot. We have a 10 day campsite reservation and a 7 day park hopper pass.

If you booked your campsite "room only" and your tickets are separate (i.e., not part of a package) then that's the easy part as unused tix never expire so you can use them whenever you go - they're not locked into any particular dates.

Sorry - I'm not sure how it works if it's a package.

You can reschedule if you made the package through Walt Disney. Our 2008 trip was rescheduled MANY times, mainly because we refuse to go on vacation unless it is paid in advance.

It'll be okay - just have a few choices to work with when you call Disney Reservations.
