Resales vs. Disney question on figuring cost

We are previous DVC members and sold in 2009. We owned at 2 resorts and have stayed at 3...so we are experienced on what, when, where. We want to buy VWL, BCV, or BWV....I think Boardwalk is smartest for us in long run for locaiton. We have stayed at all in the past. We will be paying cash.

but I need some refreshers and a little help on cost comparison

1. it sounds quicker to buy thru Disney but more expensive on the older resorts we are interested in like BWV

2. how do I figure actual cost....I noticed posts about putting annual dues in the equasion...isn't it just flat out cheaper to buy at 80 or less a point than thru Disney at 130 pt ? am I missing something?

3. it looks like it takes about 3 months from start to finish...is this about right?

4. what use year do I want for April/May trips? we had Feb UY previously

Very true.

Annual fees have no affect on purchasing a resale - except that some sellers expect to be reimbursed for all current year fees while (as you already know), DVC pro-rates the fees based on when you purchase. Depending on when you purchase and the number of points available for the current Use Year, I would not make that an issue unless the asking price is high.

Yes.

I would consider February, March or April for stays in April/May.
