After a deed has been recorded, (you sent a Check for the sale of property) how much time has everyone here experienced before receiving their official TITLE (with your own name) from the Title Company? Now, I am told another 8-10 weeks....this sounds an awful long time! BTW, we are doing a resale NOT THRU Disney, through a broker which is mentioned on these boards A LOT. Don't know if I should mention name.....

I just feel that this resale is really taking Forever :worship:

Yes, as you are aware, that can and probably will take a number of weeks before you would receive title; although some resale buyers may have reported receiving it more quickly then most do that shouldn't raise a flag - it is just par for the course, some will find that it takes longer :confused3 .

If you have dealt with a reputable resale broker and your sale went smoothly and your deed has been recorded or is in stage of being recorded then imho there really isn't any need to be concerned with any aspect of the process.

Are you in the DVC system yet ? Chances are that you most likely are & that should give you a sense of reassurance if that is what you are hoping for at the moment. I'm sure all is well and you're title will arrive in due course so go ahead and enjoy your DVC. Having done resale we didn't even give receiving title much thought but just got right down to planning how we'd use those points !!

It takes almost that long to get your title docs on a direct sale also. I wouldn't be worried.

5for DIZ...thanks for your reply! Can I already check to see if we are in the DVC system....how do we go about doing that? I am under the impression we cannot plan anything till we physically have the title? :confused3

We closed in July. After a short time we received a post card with a our pin number on it. I called MS, gave them the pin number and they were able to give me our membership number and after that I could log into the system.

We still have not received the original title, however, yesterday I talked with the our resale broker and was told we should have it within a couple of days. The person I talked with did not know why it was delayed being mailed but there were no problems with our title, just a backup of work I suppose.

You don't need Title. Call Member Services, your broker should have given you the contact info. Don't wait for the post card, it can take a few weeks.

DisneyNutz...and all!!!! Thanks so much for this info!!! My broker never told me that I can make arrangements prior to having title in my hand. I will call her tomorrow am. :goodvibes

We purchased from DVC directly in May and closed quickly. We got our membership number from our guide at the time of the sale, a few weeks down the line we received postcards, then our official membership cards sometime in mid-July. :) We finally received our Title Deed document about 10 days ago - I'd actually forgotten that we didn't have it already!
