For those of you that are considering a resale, the following was my experience with regards to timeframes through Sharon @ Fidelity. Obviously each transaction can vary.

250 SSR @ $53

07/28 Offer accepted verbally
07/29 Received documents
08/02 Mailed documents
08/04 Sent to ROFR
08/24 Approved
08/26 Received closing documents
08/29 Mailed closing documents
09/15 Pointes in my account
09/24 Received my membership cards

Hope this helps!!!!

Congratulations! Our timeline is a bit longer because we were dealing with an overseas seller (which I did not know) who was selling 3 contracts so we started this process at the end of June and are closing this week. We can't make reservations until November so not a huge issue, but if you buy, this may be something you ask as it can delay it a bit. Since notary costs and mailing costs are expensive, he waited to get all contracts. UPDATE: We closed yesterday, Sept. 2nd!!

That's a pretty good timeline. With my resales, I have given myself 60 days from the time of accepted offer before I start freaking out!

Now awaiting Disney to post points.

How long from closing until your points were in your account? I mailed my closing documents yesterday and I just checked and they were received today, so I'm guessing closing should be sometime next week. I've done everything I can to try to make sure this new contract goes into my current contract, but nervous about that. Please post the next phase of actually receiving your points. Thanks:thumbsup2

I posted this earlier, but didn't get an answer. Could someone tell be the average timeframe from closing to when I can/might expect to see my points in my account (if that works out). I'm an existing member, but this is my first resale. I'm guessing 2 weeks...would that be a good guess?

I waited the two weeks, and no points, I then called Sharon at Fidelity (the broker I used) and within and hour the points were ready to be used.

I already booked a trip at BLT in January, BWV in March and awaiting Auliani 7 month window to open for June.

The sellers accepted, but were overseas. They are to return today I hope they get the signed contracts to them by Monday. With this said, do you think based on your experience that I will be closed by november? My other contract is waiting for the family to use their last vacation. At least this one already passed rofr.

I purchased a resale contract with Rachel @ Fidelity. SSR 150points @ $59 per point with all 2010, 11,& 12 points available. I (buyer) paid all closing $$ and we split the MF's. I did call is at one point to check on the progress of the sale and was satisfied with the answers. A slight hold up due to the seller not signing one of the sheets and having to resend it back. Probably added 3 to 4 extra days. Simple oversight. I also think it closed several days prior and I had not yet been notified, once I was notified that we had closed it was only a couple of day till the points were in my account. Hope this helps, good luck!

My Timeframe
5/11 Made offer and had it accepted
5/12 Faxed back the documents
5/13 Sent to Disney for ROFR
5/29 ROFR accepted by Disney
6/7 Returned the closing Doc's
6/22 Called in to check on the progress
6/28 Closed
7/1 Points were in my disney account

Once they received the paperwork from the seller, they had the contract closed within a week.

I think you have a great chance to close by November if the paperwork is in sometime this week.

It took about 7 days for me to be in the system and then two days more for my points to be loaded..within the 7 to 10 day timeline the broker said it would take.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info! Let's hope the sellers faxed or e-mailed the contract this weekend.

Thanks for posting (along with the others who answered my question around timeframe). So it can be 2-4 weeks according to others. I am hoping that my new resale points get added to my existing account, so am a little nervous about that. I talked to the agent (Sharon) and the title company person (Kammi) and did everything they asked me to do, so time will tell if it works out. I just didn't want a second membership. I have plenty of time to bank my points as I'm an April U/Y, so have until the end of November, I'm just nervous about where the new points will go.

We made an offer for SSR 50 pt contract at $55 per pt on 7/8 (wedding gift for our son and his wife who were getting married on 7/9!). It was verbally accepted on 7/11...our son and his wife signed and returned paperwork on Saturday 7/16...paperwork rec'd by Fidelity on 7/18 signed by one owner on 7/19 and on 7/24 by the other owner....sent for ROFR last few days of July....notified ROFR waived sometime early second week of August......final payment sent 8/16....then one of the owners started dragging their feet (it was a divorce case)....closing didn't actually happen until Monday 9/19.....talked to DVC member administration today (7/26) and they rec'd contract from Fidelity this morning.....told me points should be in system by Wednesday....so closing took about 10 weeks....not too bad, however, toward the end I did have to call Fidelity and closing company several times checking on the holdup.

Wow, that was fast!

I just got my points in my account today and it's only been 6 business days!! My signed paperwork was received in the office on Friday afternoon 9/16 and this afternoon my points appeared in my account. I was relieved that all of my work to make sure all of the information was the same as my other contracts worked out and my new points were added to my existing membership! Here's my breakdown:

8/19 contract went to ROFR
8/31 Passed (in just 8 days)
9/15 signed paperwork and fedex out
9/16 fedex received in FL office @ 3:00PM (Friday afternoon)
9/27 points are now in my account ready to use!

The whole process was pretty easy and painless. Though I did lose a couple of days because there was a typo on my paperwork so I had to wait for a new set to be emailed to me. Sharon made the process easy.

My timeline...hope it helps! (OKW, June UY)

Aug 20: Made offer
Aug 21: Offer accepted
Aug 22: Contract sent to Disney
Sep 7: Passed ROFR (2 weeks)
Sept 20: Got paperwork from Title company
Sept 21: Faxed paperwork and sent $
Oct 3: CLOSED! (Was told at the time to call Disney MS in 2 weeks to get member #)
Oct 5: emailed that Disney had my member # and points, and I could call at any time
later Oct 5: called MS, was not in system...then remembered a post about calling MA instead, so did that and voila! got my member #...called MS back with the number and made first reservation...for December, was able to book AKL for 5 nights, SSR for 2.
Oct 6: called to check if AKL had availability for the 2 nights that it previously didn't and it did!

Less than 7 weeks total.

There was some massive pixie dust involved...good luck to all of you!!!!!!

Here's my timeline in progress:

8/24 made offer/accepted.
8/29 Sent to ROFR
9/21 Passed ROFR (23 days)
10/7 Still waiting for closing documents (16 days and counting!)

So I'm working on 7 weeks and still have at least 3 more until I see some points. Guess it goes to show that these things vary. As far as I've been told, this is still a normal process, without title issues/bankruptcy etc. The broker conjecturered that around the end of the fiscal year (10/1) apparently the Disney folks let some things slide (I'd guess things like my contract/estoppel letter) slide while they get stuff that needs to be done done.... Oh well.

Foobus, I'm surprised you're still waiting. We received our closing documents on Monday of this week and we heard about ROFR after you!

Here's our timeline so far ( it is with an overseas seller)

Made offer 8/14
offer accepted 8/15
received contract 8/16
sent in contract 8/22 (we were on vacation from 8/16-8/20)
sent to ROFR 8/26
ROFR waived 9/22 (28 days)
closing documents receive 10/3
sent in money/closing documents 10/6

I'm assuming I'll get my points in about 2 weeks???

Here is our timeline for Timeshare Store: We submitted our paperwork/deposit for our 100 pt. VWL contract on Sept. 7th. Passed on the 21st. Recieved paperwork from title co. on Sept. 27th, returned on the 29th with final payment. They recieved it on Oct. 3rd..... AND TODAY WE GOT THE EMAIL THAT OUR 100 POINTS CLOSED AND THEY ARE OFFICIALLY OURS!!!!! Now the email does say it takes Disney 14 to 28 days to recognize this new membership.

This was through the TimeShare Store. :) ABSOLUTELY 100% HAPPY FROM START TO FINISH!!!! It took exactly 1 month from the time we submitted our initial paperwork and deposit.

We also bought 50 points VWL through Fidelity. Paperwork was submitted on the 8th of Sept. We passed on the 20th. THEN I emailed them on Oct. 4th to check in because we had not heard anything. After the inquiry the title co. sent the paperwork that same day. We sent it back to the title co. on Oct. 6th. So I will post when we get that email saying it is closed. :)

I was pretty surprised too... Good news in that today - Finally - we got the closing documents (and returned them).

8/24 made offer/accepted.
8/29 Sent to ROFR
9/21 Passed ROFR (23 days)
10/11 received/returned closing document (20 days)

Hope we don't continue the trend and wait 20+ days for closing....

We finally went to ROFR, and passed in only two work days. (submitted Friday afternoon passed Tuesday morning) Received final contracts. Fed-x out Friday. Waiting again for the Sellers to mail their portion of the contract...

Finally closed that thursday, and the points were in the system Monday PM.

Booked SSR for the sat after thanksgiving (two bedroom) Called the next day, and AKL savanah 2 bedroom was waiting for me to take. My parents are staying with us and are so excited. They have never stayed at akl.

It was nice to provide it to them after all the nice vacations they took me on over the years.

After our 1 night at AKL we both have extended verandah views on the Dream!
