The Poly is an expression of 1960s Tiki style, very popular then, considered cheesy now. So your feeling is correct!Yeah, I always felt like the Polynesian looked like a cheesy version of a real polynesian-like resort. But that's from me on the outside looking in as I've never stayed there.
Pixie dust!I walked in and thought wow this is big. Went straight for the view. Nice view. We can see Epcot!. It took several minutes for my husband to say wait didn’t we book a studio? Then it hit me I was in a 1 bedroom!
Do you know how excited I am that I can take my nap in the pull down bed and keep the main bed clean for after we shower tonight?! Like next level excited.

I take a photo and my husband says “don’t tell the kids”. I say oh no definitely not I’m telling my Disney peeps!
Okay now that I told my peeps I’m gonna nap for real this time.
As someone who wears aloha shirts and drinks out of Trader Sam’s mugs at home…. I did the Oceanic Arts tiki vibe. The Poly is an expression of 1960s Tiki style, very popular then, considered cheesy now. So your feeling is correct!
You got a refurbished room too! Talk about pixie dust! Enjoy!I walked in and thought wow this is big. Went straight for the view. Nice view. We can see Epcot!. It took several minutes for my husband to say wait didn’t we book a studio? Then it hit me I was in a 1 bedroom!
WOW a one-bedroom upgrade and the room was ready early? Congrats and enjoy! Rest from that WDW heat/humidity.I walked in and thought wow this is big. Went straight for the view. Nice view. My worst Disney transit experience was getting stuck over 20m in a monorail (just past the contemporary) it was crowded, stuffy, at some point they turned off the power and suggested it could be a while and then we crawled (less than 5mph) to the TTC while there was a loud screeching sound.
Occasionally they will ask you to share a skyliner with another party at very crowded times, but 95% of the time my (non rope-dropper) family gets our own car and my kids love it and we blast some music and have what they call “a disco dance party.” I would definitely get stressed if I was on one of the very long stalls, but at least you have a seat and space…plus I’m nearly certain the Skyliner has a lower fatality rate than the monorail.
Like many of you, I do prefer the boats to both.
Jealous you're at my BLT... im at disneyland! Headed to the star lounge to ask for some swag, hopefully I have better luckI walked in and thought wow this is big. Went straight for the view. Offsite this time, need to save those points for FL!Staying onsite or off at Disneyland?
The pool at Poly was packed! Not much shade either.I hear you on this. Especially if you’ve been to Aulani. Also, the pool crowds and pool chair situation at the Poly make Aulani’s perceived “issues” pale in comparison.

If the reason lets up well before the fireworks time there will still be a show in my experienceSlept longer than we anticipated in my sleep I heard fireworks. Thought to myself oh that’s nice they do fireworks during the day here. It was thunder.our timing coming back to the room worked out very well, big thunderstorm and it’s been raining pretty much ever since. Still rainy now.
Do they cancel fireworks here like they do at DLR if there is any weather?
WDW will usually only cancel fireworks if there is lightning. It will delay and still put on the show in a complete downpour if the lightning is goneSlept longer than we anticipated in my sleep I heard fireworks. The BLT 1BRs are great! Congrats! I find the Lake views very nice, too.I walked in and thought wow this is big. Went straight for the view. Nice view. We can see Epcot!. It took several minutes for my husband to say wait didn’t we book a studio? Then it hit me I was in a 1 bedroom!
