Resale Rumours

I wonder if they implement changes and don't grandfather current members that bought resale(s) in the past... could a class-action lawsuit be possible?

in this country, lawsuits are always possible.

but your contract doesn't guarantee nearly as much as most DVC owners assume it does. many/most other timeshares do have some features that distinguish resale from direct sales.

i would agree with the prior poster that disney has better legal help than to open themselves up to a lawsuit that they had any possibility of losing.

I think DVC direct sales would be affected if people thought they could never unload it if they needed to on the resale market.

Scare tactics is what I am seeing here. If they want to protect their direct market they would be wise to give more incentives to them. If they harm the resales, who would want to buy a product that you could not sell later when you are done with it, or need to if it was worth significantly less.

I would never have bought my DVC membership with a thought to selling it later and needing to get a high value for my resale. Most other timeshares get VERY little for resales and that hasn't stopped them from selling new memberships.---Kathy
