Resale Prices

I'm just wondering if anyone has tracked what the resale market has done over time? We're thinking of buying in (well I'm desperate my husband is more realistic) and I was wondering if for some reason if we had to sell in 5 or 10 years what we might be looking at getting back. Any ideas or experience?

some big picture answers in addition to the mountain of data linked above:

direct pricing for OKW started at $48 in 1991...BWV was about $63 initially in '96...BCV started at $75 in 2002. resale buyers within a few years of those purchases would have paid less and would probably still be able to sell in a gain position at this point.

OTOH, timeshares in general have been hammered by the recession. if real estate prices in general have taken a hit, timeshares have taken more of a hit. DVC has been spared the worst of it - IMO due to travel demand to wdw remaining fairly stable - but you never know what the future will bring. many timeshares are tough to sell for $1 on ebay right now - unlikely for DVC but significant drops are not out of the question. if the economy improves, maybe resale prices pick up a little but that's hard to predict right now.

also, DVC - unlike many timeshares - has an expiration date. there are positives and negatives to that but it does mean that in 10 years, a DVC resale buyer will only get 20 years or so of vacations out of one of the 2042 properties...potentially driving the value down.

i would also add that - as with other real estate - location counts for a lot. BCV contracts have held up much, much better than SSR contracts so far despite having an earlier end date. if any DVC were to collapse to pennies on the dollar, the offsite resorts at hilton head and vero beach are prime candidates - resale prices at those resorts have held up much worse than other DVC resorts so far.
