Wow! I just checked the resale prices at BCV and saw two resales for $141/point and $150/point. The one for $150 really surprised me. I think that was the one that had fully banked points, but still... We bought a resale at BCV just a few months ago, almost the exact same situation, 75 points with 150 coming in August because of banking. We paid $129, which I thought was really expensive, but since it was exactly what we wanted we took it. We've always thought we kind of overpaid-that is, until I looked today. Are BCV resales that limited?

It's a small resort and the people currently buying resale are doing so to lock in Fall bookings; they aren't going to be reselling anytime soon.

Plus Star Wars is coming and the Near Epcot resorts are also Near HS resorts. So anybody in the know won't sell until after the 50th Anniv of WDW or so.

Really, it's simple supply and demand, Demand is very high and supply is very low.

I don't expect the 2042 date to impact pricing until after the 50th, not until 2024 or later.

I paid $84/point for 250 BCV pts in 2014. That looks like a great decision more and more with each passing price bump. We own at both BCV and a fixed week at Poly. I asked my DW once which would we keep if we could only keep one: she said BCV without a moment of hesitation. I agree.

I will say this about BCV. Unlike almost everywhere else I stay at DVC, there are no bad rooms. At other places I worry about getting a bad view, or getting stuck at the end of a long corridor. I never worry about that at BCV. Whatever room I get at BCV is great with me because that means I'm staying at BCV!

At those prices they are guaranteed to pass ROFR.

In another thread someone wrote that Disney has closed the waitlist for direct points at BCV. With resale prices so high it's unlikely that many points will be reacquired via ROFR. So if buying points direct is not possible, resale prices nearly matching the direct price is not a surprise. Some people really want BCV and are ready to pay a big premium for them.
Personally, I would never buy at those prices, I bought my contract for 1/3 of that price during the last recession, at today prices (direct or resale, BCV or SSR alike) I wouldn't became a DVC member.

Looks like they were removed from the site.. Someone was getting greedy...

Were they removed or did they sell? Although isn't there a "pending" period if points sell?

To each his own - stayed there in Jan and wasn't wowed. At that price, buying direct at Copper to lock in DVC "perks" almost makes sense -- combined with longer contract.

Yeah, we had a 1BR there during Food & Wine a few years back. It was a perfectly pleasant place, but we didn't find it particularly exceptional. But, the resort is small enough that it doesn't need a huge following to keep prices high.
