Resale Or Dierct Dvc

It depends on your particular situation. How many points do you want to buy? Where do you want to buy? It also depends on whether you have the patience to sit and wait to see if you pass ROFR.

We got a good deal last year resale on 300 points at OKW. We paid $73 per point (plus closing costs and 2005 maintenance dues). We also got a good deal buying a 60 point add-on at VWL direct from Disney.

Looking For About 210 And Does Not Realy Mattter Where At Because I Will Always Be Going In The Off Time

If location really doesn't matter, for 210 points you can probably do better through resale at OKW or SSR.

But what do you mean by "off time"? Point costs are lowest between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and because of that DVC owners like to book their trips during that time. It might be hard to book at VWL, BCV, or BWV during that timeframe.

May, on the other hand, is easier to book. I easily got into BCV at seven months for our upcoming trip in May. But point costs in May are higher.

All of January and all of September are also part of Adventure Season(lowest point requirements), most of November and December(excluding holidays) plus all of October are part Choice season which very close to adventure season requirements(actually the same in some cases).

I think SSR, VWL and BCV are almost always better off buying direct from Disney, after you factor in Closing Costs and value of available/stripped points. And if you do find one where the numbers make sense, ROFR is a huge probability.

OKW, it would be crazy to buy direct from Disney. Resale prices are WELL BELOW retail and there is always a huge supply of points.

BWV depends, just crunch the numbers because I have seen some deals that would have been better off paying full retail and others that were very good deals compared to retail.

Just remember to add Closing cost if any, I devide by the number of points and apply it.
Also calculate the number and value of points missing or banked with the resale compared to direct from disney. Disney right now is still giving the 2005 points when you purchase(dues are prorated, can be free depending on use year).

I think you are 50-50 for passing ROFR. I bid $73.00 pp on an 1156 point OKW contract offered at $72.00, because I was worried about ROFR.

GOOD LUCK!
