has anyone used redweek to buy a resale? I am just lookin around at other sites for more selection. Are there any other good ones out there?

Never mond. looks like redweek has the same lisitings as the timeshare store

As a buyer, you will pay no more to use a reputable reseller, like the board sponsor, than to buy through a private party because of ROFR. We used the board sponsor and would use them again if we bought another resale contract.

It's not the prices it is that there is not the listing we are looking for. I wanted to look around for the right contract, UY, points, points available now, etc.

You may want to contract TTS and tell them what you are looking for. It is my understanding that some contracts sell before they even make it to the web page. I have never used them personally but have heard nothing but good things about them.

I agree that TTS has been wonderful. For the Disney resales, my understanding is that they don't let anyone have first dibs at a new DVC listing by just contacting specific individuals--at least that is what I was told when I first got in touch with them with some general questions.

What they do is they send out a daily e-mail listing of all the new resales that they just received. For some of the highly desirable contracts, the e-mail recipient needs to act fast and call TTS (not e-mail) to commit. When that happens, the listing will show up as "Sale Pending" on the website. In fact, that's exactly what happened in my case. As soon as I saw the 100 point contract with 2006 banked points on the daily e-mail, I crunched some numbers and within 10 minutes I was on the phone with them. I later learned that after I called, there were 2 other parties who are ready to snap it up if my offer falls through--apparently, they are avid watchers of this daily e-mail too! Definitely get on their e-mail list if you are after popular resorts/ contract size.

We bought from TTS and got on the call list. They called with our contract and we grabbed it then. I have not heard of an email list, unless it is relatively new. I would call and tell them your specifics, our perfect contract came through in less than a month!

I'm on the email list, sometimes I get 2 a day with new listings, but I think you can tell them what you are looking for (UY, resort, # of points) and they will give you a call.

Redweeks is simply a place where members can place listings. Others you may want to look at include the ad portion of TUG (Timeshare Users Group), bidshares, myresortsnetwork, plus a number of brokers that include the TTS but many others. Personally I think price and the right contract are your most important issues.

The other very important thing to consider is the seller's familiarity with the DVC purchase process. I have read some horror stories of the closing process and how long it takes with a company that doesn't deal frequently with DVC. The last thing you want after you find the "perfect" contract is months of frustration. There are 2 other great brokers besides TTS, so if you want to PM me I can send you their info. One in particular seems to get a lot of inventory and rave reviews.
