Resale fee question

In addition to actual $$ for points, for those who bought resales approximately how much do you pay for closing, other fees????

I don't remember exactly, but I think we paid about $400 closing costs for our 270 resale points.

The closing cost doesn't seem to go down much for small point contracts....so you end up paying more "closing cost per point" when you have small contracts.

Timeshare Store Closing for us ran $400. for a small contract (60 pts.), and $525. for a larger contract (210 pts). FWIW, a remax contract I saw on e-bay was even higher. The closing fees can be negotiatged, depending on the contract.

We've purchased 3 resale contracts with varying points. On average, we paid between $1.90 per point for closing costs. There is also a $100 transfer fee that Disney charges. Believe our last contract also had a $25-$35 ROFR fee! If there are current year unused points available, the buyer typically reimburses the seller for the maintenance fees. Everything is negotiable between the buyer & seller but you will generally get through ROFR much easier when the buyer picks up more of these fees. HTH!

We purchased a VWL contract through the Remax dealer you're referring to. Our closing costs were $725 on 370 points.
