My wife and I were completely new to the DVC. We had thought about timeshares in the past, but never pulled the trigger. In Late March we were planning a vacation to the Beach Club and looked at the cost. This made us buy into a DVC resale.

We made an offer for 200 points at $78/point with the 200 from 2005 banked at OKW in late March. Our broker told us that it was a six week process, but each part went slower than expected. Ous seller's had a parent die and that cost a week in the original documets getting signed. We did OK with ROFR taking about 2 weeks. The estoppel process was over 2 weeks as someone at Disney lost their husband unexpectadely.

The worst delay was the seller's did not get their paper work in. We were at the point of threatening to pull out and scrub the whole deal, but finally they got their stuff in and we settled on May 15th. We were in the system by Friday May 19th and made our first reservation.

We had asked on here about making a Summer Res. for BCV or BWV in mid May, and the general response was "no way." We were very flexible with our dates as we are both teachers so had our choice of dates from late June through mid August. We wanted to stay at two different resorts to get the feel of them. We love the Epcot location - it is so nice to be able to walk to Epcot and MGM. (nothing beats leaving Fantasmic and passing the giant crowd getting on the boat and strolling home.) We got 3 nights in a 1BR at BWV followed by 6 nights in a 1 BR at BCV. We couldn't be more excited!!

What a great story! You picked a great resort for a home resort and some really nice places to stay for your first trip. Have fun.

Congratulations and welcome home! And welcome to the DIS as well. Enjoy your vacation this summer. We just got back from our first stay at BWV and really enjoyed it. I hope you do too!

We stayed at OKW last January and loved that resort, too. The 1BR villas there are wonderful.

Welcome home. Glad it worked out for you. One bedrooms are usually easier to get than the studios or two bedrooms (in our experience).

Congratulations & Welcome Home!!

HAPPY "MAGICAL" VACATIONING,
