For those of you who bought a resale...

Did you pay maintenance fees on the banked points from the prior year and/or current years points?

When did you receive all the DVC info from Disney (binder, prospectus, etc)?

We purchased our resale April 2000. The owners had already paid the 2000 dues. We had to reimburse them $400 something for what they already paid. There were some banked points, but we did not pay the dues for those. It wasn't a very long wait for our binder to come. We did not get a tote bag. That's ok, I have plenty of them anyways! Hope this helps you out!!

We did not pay maintenance for previous years points, even though they were all included on the contract. Because we purchased beginning of Feb we did pay 2001 membership, since we had all the points for 2000 and 2001 to use and most of the year to use/bank them. We already had the public offering statement because we almost bought from Disney and cancelled in favor of a resale. I would definitely want to look it over or consult this board so you clearly understand the agreement before you purchase.Actually you can get most of the pertinent info on this board- banking/borrowing, cancellation, etc. We closed over a month ago and Disney just sent out all the membership info.

We bought two resale contracts last year. We did not pay any annual dues/maintenance fees for that year. We paid closing costs on both, but on one the price was rock bottom and the other the price was low with banked points essentially "free." We got our info from this board and our resale broker. (We also asked Disney for their information package, but received only a video and barebones brochures.) We got our member binder and ID cards from Disney a couple weeks after the deeds were filed.

Just paid the closing costs. Negotiated with the seller to pay the maintainence fees on banked/unused points. We found out after the transaction that our resale was from a bankrupcy. If I had known that beforehand, I might have offered even less per point. ;)
