I was reading a few posts that mention a commission for the broker in the instance of a resale. I did not see anything advertised about this on their sight. They mention closing costs which can be paid by the buyer or seller according to the agreement. How much do they charge for commission? Is it always paid be the seller?

I have bought one resale from The Timeshare store and am currently finalising a purchase of DVC (Hooray) through A Timeshare broker.

Both of my purchases have involved the seller paying a commission to the resale agent . I think this is the norm. I asked about the resale commission and was told that it varied from 10-15% with 12% the average.

The buyer is often responsible for maintenance dues for points remaining in the current year but I have learned that everything is up for discussion when you are buying...even DVC.

Hope this helps

The commission is the sellers responsibility, as they are the one who has enlisted the services of the broker. The commision is, however, built into the selling price. It can be a % or a flat rate, but it will be paid out of the sales price.

Enjoy!

I've seen amounts to 35% and minimums of $2500 and as low as 15% with minimums of $1500. The lowest I've seen was around $700-800 which I believe was ERA Stroman.
