Requests missing....is it just me or ?

You have been told wrong. On several occasions at various resorts the CM at check in read the notes I put on the fax I send in, verbatim, when I checked in. Clearly the fax was not thrown away and someone went far enough to not only read it but enter the notes in their system. Last time this happened was Oct of this year, at BWI

You are right about your last sentence though. Getting your request is luck of the draw. But they aren't ignored and certainly not out of spite because you pester them.

I agree with this. In August and early last week our Touring Plans faxed room requests were honored at CSR. (In fact, last week, we had asked for a room in the same wing as our August stay, which we really liked, but not the same room because the phone had been broken in that room--we specified all of that in the fax--and they gave us the room immediately below our August room.)

Using Touring Plans fax service is the best way to go if you want to have a request faxed in. Otherwise there is no guarantee the resorts will read your fax. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
