Hi-
Its our first time staying at BW as DVC members. Anyone have any suggestions for requests we should make on our reservation as far as room location? We've stayed at BW before but not in the DVC portion. We have a 2BR reserved. Thanks for any insight.
:thumbsup2

Is it a standard view? If so, ask if there are any rooms that do not have parking lot views. We had this once and while it did not really mess up our vacation, it did have a bit of an effect because we like to sit on the balcony. Watching the buses pull in is not beautiful. :)
Garden/pool/water views and the Boardwalk views are all very nice.

Which View?

The standard views are all along the front driveway and around the pond facing the valet parking. One advantage of these views is you can see the fireworks from Illuminations on the higher floors in some rooms.

We were not that lucky. Ours was a first floor with bushes and the bus view.:)

I have had five stays, standard villas. And only once was I able to see the fireworks from my room...I was either too low. Or there were tress in the way of my view. Or, I was on the end of the building, facing DHS. Drove me nutty.
I did have one villa, last Oct, that we had a good view of IllumiNations, but we were on the top floor.

This thread is of great interest to me too! We are staying in a dedicated 2 bedroom standard view at BWV. So would it be wise to request a room near the elevator, highest floor? Or if we are only staying 2 nights and will likely be out of the room when Illuminations is going on, does the "high floor" not really matter?

Sorry, no, you are not staying in a dedicated two bedroom standard view at BWV because there are no dedicated two bedroom villas at BWV. All two bedroom villas at BWV are lockoffs (meaning a combination of a studio and one bedroom). So you'll have a king bed, a queen bed, a queen sleeper sofa (in the living room) and double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom.

Semantics is not that important. We knew what she meant.

But maybe she didn't know the difference and would be surprised when she showed up that it wasn't dedicated. It's a lot more than semantics.

Sorry, you guys are absolutely right. We are staying in a 2 bedroom lock-off at BWV. It is the 2 bedroom at BLT that is dedicated. I'm seeking room request info for both (split stay) and just got confused.

I would not worry about the high floor as much as I would beaing near the elevator. While the hallways do not bother me, they can seem endless. The more requests you make the less likely it is you might receive one. If I had to choose, I would ask for a room closer to the elevators.

No problem, it happens to most of us.:)

I'm glad you already knew about the lockoff situation. Some guests are a little disturbed when they find the bedroom they were going to have their small children sleep in has a kitchenette and a door to the outside corridor, as well as a balcony.
