Requesting Room or location @ Saratoga Springs

This is our first time staying at Saratoga Spring! We are so excited!!!! It will be my family of 5 and my wife's parents. We have a two bedroom unit reserved with our points. Is there a way I can go about requesting a particular area of the resort? It really won't bother me where we end up, but if possible, I'd love to be closer to Disney Springs. Just wondering what my process would be.

Beginning 1/1/2017, Congress Park (closest Disney Springs) and the Springs (closest to Carriage House) are part of a new Preferred Location booking category. The other sections (Grandstand, Paddock & Carousel) are in the new Standard Location booking category. The Preferred category requires more points than the Standard category.

Call MS and have them note a location request on your reservation.

The closest section to the Springs is the Paddock, but it is on the other side of the lake, especially if you request the building near the Paddock pool. The closest standard view section to the Carriage House is the Grandstand, especially if you get a room in the buildings close to the Grandstand Pool. Also the Grandstand is the first bus stop on the way out of the resort, you are usually guaranteed a seat in the mornings that way.

We like the Paddock--request a pool view room as second-- The walk to Carriage house is about 5 minutes over the bridge. from here you can get the boat to Disney springs. We also love the Paddock pool, it has food and a drink refill station as well as very close to the bus stop.... Did less walking at this resort than any other as far as pools buses and food is concerned.... They have or started a bus last year that goes around the resort and drops you off at the walk way to Disney Springs as they no longer have direct bus service. Do not know if t hat has changed or not?

BTW, if you are in the Paddock next to the pool wouldn't it be easier to walk over to Congress Park and just take the bridge into DS? Or you could take a bus and get off at the CP bus stop. But I think the total walk time would only be 8 minutes or less to DS from the Paddock pool.
