We are booked for Dec 13 to 19th.
1)Should I fax in request 4 days before (or,I have heard some say they ignore fax requests)
2)Should I call and "add" the request to my reservation 4 days before.
3)Is requesting certain room numbers "going too far" (having a King bed would be nice)
4)Would a request like " Late (10-30pm) Arrival ,Connecting Rooms,50s Building,High Floor,Lake Facing" be unreasonable.
Thanks

You are really limiting yourself with that number of requests. There are only so many king bed rooms to begin with. And you want 50's, higher floor, facing the lake and connecting?? Something is going to have to give. Figure out what you 'have' to have. Then, call whomever you made the reservations with and have the requests added to your reservation. I really don't put much stock in sending in a fax. Most resorts just chuck them.
When I stay at POP I 'request'...facing the lake, upper floor, and that's about it. Last time I was there, they gave me a ground level room, in 80's, with the lake off to my right, and a parking lot in back of the shrubbery. I was a bit put out and asked if there was a higher level room open. The CM looked at me like I had 8 heads and said, and I quote..."Wow, most people would kill for your room. It's one of the best ones here!!" She was really snippy. I didn't have an issue with the room once I got there. It was very nice and very quiet. But, when I'm traveling alone, I don't like to be on the ground floor.
Have a great trip though. I can't wait for Dec to get here so I can pack and head south as well.

You should call and make your requests now! You can not be that picky and you have to know that not all requests are granted. I asked for connecting rooms (my fam of four and Grandma and Grandpa's room) the CM on the phone said they do give priority of connecting rooms to those with children. The CM said it was because otherwise too many kids run back and forth and slam fingers. but still NOTHING is promised ... well my bed rails and pack and play are but nothing else.

You should make your requests now by calling and having them noted on your reservation.

Requesting a certain room number is going a bit too far. You can try but do not count on that at all.

The request as you have written here is a bit too much. The late arrival really isn't a request but more an info type thing. Connecting rooms are never guaranteed and depending on your party makeup (like if you have all daults, your chances go down) you may not get this at all. And then adding the 50s building, high floor, lake facing adds even more that you might not get.

What you might want to do is decide what is the most important thing for you. The way you have your request written, the connecting rooms would be the most important. Then in decreasing order of importance, would be the building request, the floor request and the view request. So you might want to look at that and see what you really want. The more things you request, the less likely you are to get everything.

Now, if there is something you are requesting that you have a medical reason for, that needs to be noted. But I don't see where any request you are making is for that reason.

The more requests you have, the less likely you are to have them all met. I would just try to stick with one or two that are most important. Call ahead and make sure that your requests are noted. I have always sent a fax 4 days out and have been assured that it was recieved--it may have helped, may not have, but it didn't hurt. The worst that will happen is they will throw3 it away. Also, the earlier you can get their for check in, the better chances you have of getting what you ask for.:)

When we were at POP at few weeks ago, the only thing I requested beforehand was an upper floor. When we arrived at check-in, we got our room number and was told it was a first floor room. :confused3 Before I could even open my mouth to tell the gal what I had requested, she informed me that we were in the 60's bldg facing the lake. It was super, super close to the main building and it was so quiet. And the room was ready at 10 AM! No waiting! :cool1: So, we went on our way and was thrilled at our room location and view! So what if it was on the first floor.
