Requesting Pibb Xtra while staying in the Hawaii Longhouse at the Polynesian

Last month while my family and I were visiting the Polynesian I noticed on the 2nd floor at Samoa Snacks they were selling cans of Pibb Xtra. Anway since my parents and I are staying at the Polynesian this December in a Garden View Club Level room in the Hawaii Longhouse, I should have no trouble requesting Pibb Xtra? Last month when we got to visit the lounge I noticed they did not have it out for the guests who stay there which is why I would need to request it.

Because I think they only sell it in single cans and I would rather have the Club Level Cast Members try to at least a 6 pack for free.

I wouldn't be sure that what's available through retail (Samoa Snacks) is necessarily also available through food service (concierge lounge). Sounds like two different inventories to me.

Sure, I'd ask the concierge folks if they serve Pibb. But, never, ever, in a million years would I suggest that they go over to Samoa Snacks and get me a free six pack.

My DS16 LOVED Mr Pibb when we were staying at the Polynesian concierge a few years ago. What's Pibb XTRA?? Is it the same thing but with a new name??

CR Fan: They used to have Mr Pibb in the Polynesian concierge lounge but they haven't had it for our last couple of visits. For our next trip in May 2008 I was planning on asking concierge if they'd be able to purchase a 6-pack of Mr Pibb for me (I had no idea they sold it in Samoa Snacks), so I can surprise DS16 with it in our room. I honestly never thought to ask if they could just get it to have in the lounge for us. I wonder if they'll get some Pibb for you, for the lounge? Do you plan on emailing them to find out?? I'll be interested to see what they tell you.

P.S. Pibb is not available where we live, and if it were, it wouldn't be such a big deal for DS to have it while we're in Florida. But I thought it'd be a nice treat to see if concierge could get this for us.

Last month while staying at the Atrium Club of the Contemporary, my Mom asked for some Caffeine Free Diet Coke because they no longer had it up there and the Cast Member was able to get a total of 18 cans. One was a 12 pack and the other was from a 6 pack, which was free.

I only suggested Samoa Snacks because I did not see it anywhere else in the Polynesian.

Since the Pibb Xtra would be for me I would plan on asking for it after we check-in, because I have found it's easier to make requests for specific items in person and not threw the IPO. Plus everytime we have made special food requests on the Atrium Club it has always been in person and they have came threw with it everytime.

My teenage son loves Barqs RB and he just casually asked the CM in the GF RPC lounge if they had any. SHe was super sweet but told him that they didn't. THe next day, though, she had remembered his request and gave him his own 6 pack of it. Thought that was just soooo NICE.

I suppose it just doesn't ever hurt to politely ask.

Just meant that I do think they try to accommodate requests. That was our experience. Demands are probably met with a much different response.

In the past while at the Atrium Club when we would like to request something we did not make it sound like a demand and they have always followed threw on them, so I will just tell them if I can request the Pibb Xtra.

You can always ask for it and if they don't have it, just buy it yourself at the snack place.

At least it's not requesting a Pepsi product. Then you would have a problem.
