Requesting Off

I'm just concerned with my boyfriend coming to visit me. If I only would be able to get two days off- that doesn't seem like enough! He's never even been to Disney, two days is not enough to even see all four parks really! He'd be coming down by himself so it's not like he'd really have anything to do while I was working.

I don't see why requesting two days off is a big deal whatsoever- you're scheduled two days off a week generally anyway, why does it matter what two days?

Sometimes people at your location have already requested the dates off that you've requested, so they need someone to work, therefore you are denied.

You could talk to your location and ask if they could make your two days off certain days, I did that once or twice. Some locations get into patterns (I usually has Mon/Tues or Tues/Wed off.) A lot of rejected request offs are weekend days too.

You will pretty much always get denied if you request more than 2 days off because as a CP they have to schedule you for 5 days a week. The last week of your CP youleave on a Friday. I was sceduled to work Sunday-Thursday 48 hours and when I tried getting Thursday off so I could have time to pack and go to the CP graduation party I was denied because they were considering Friday and Saturday as my days off even though I wouldn't be an employee anymore..

You can do the fri/at and sun/mon the other post was talking about because it's two different weeks. And then you can always give away shifts and request either short shifts or specific times (like an opening shift or something) to work you schedule so you can have fun with your family.

they have to schedule you 30 hours a week, but if you request time off that puts you below 30 hours, there is no problem with that, except for the rent situation.

The only exception to that is the last week of work, they will not let you give away shifts or ask off simply because it's your last week and they don't wanna get jipped on rent. The pathetic thing is I was already out of CP housing and not paying them any rent and they still wouldn't let me give a shift away.

If it's in the offseason in the middle of the week, you can do all 4 parks, every E ticket attraction, and a show in 10 hours. Been there, done that :cool1:

You can give away your shifts that you are scheduled to other people. I never really had a problem doing that because there are plenty of people who wanted more hours and more money...

I requested 3 days off like a month ago and they were approved. One of the days on my schedule doesn't say off but it has hours and says ADO which I hear means Authorized Day Off. So does this mean that even though I have hours posted on that day of my schedule that I'm not working?

Yes, an Authorized Day Off (ADO) means that you have been approved for an another day off in addition to the two days off you have for that week.

The reason it has hours on it on your schedule is because of a quirk in the scheduling system used by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. You are not required to come in to work that day.

Got it. Thank you!
