Requesting MK view at Contemporary

Thanks to these boards, we plan to use the fax request for our tower room (not club or concierge). Our only request will be the MK view.

Could any vets tell us how to specifically ask for that type of room, i.e. what floor, what room #s, etc?

Thanks so much. J

I simply asked for a MK view, upper floor. This was to avoid having trees in front of the balcony, which I'd heard might happen on lower floors. The highest floors are concierge, but we got one of the highest we could with a regular tower room. The upper floor also puts you a bit farther away from all the bus traffic that goes by. The view is really wonderful, but you look down at the front parking lot and hear a lot of busses when you're on the balcony.

I booked the Contemporary and requested MK view during the call. I got my confirmation letter today and it says "Tower-park/bay". Does that mean MK view? I hope so!

Zach,

I got the same thing. I believe it means you have a view of either the park (MK) or the bay (waterview), which are the only two choices anyway. It seems pointless for them to even include the extra description.

I hope your request is fulfilled. :)

We check into the Contemporary in two days!! My husband keeps joking that we will get upgraded to the tower view free of charge. I say keep dreaming! Especially because we are there with the Shades of Green deal- I know we will be in the N. Garden Wing and that's fine with me! I just think it's funny because he's such a dreamer. It would be awesome to have a park view though- good luck with your request!!

On our first trip to the Contemporary, we had booked a "garden view" in the North Wing. We were upgraded to the Tower with a bay side view, without asking or faxing a request. They just did it and told us upon check in.

Crossing our fingers that some Disney magic will come your way as well. J

Jennifer-
That would be really cool if they upgraded us....I just kind of doubt it since we booked our room with the Shades of Green deal..I assume that even if the rest of the Contemporary was only 1/2 full (which it sounds like it might be with the hour cuts and last minute hotel offers) that we would still be put in the garden wing since we are with the military deal- I think it's kind of a separate issue even though our confirmation page was sent by Disney. It's confusing...we book with Shades of Green at their rate, but any room requests (like fridge/crib/floor) go to the Contemporary. Who knows, maybe they will do a complimentary upgrade, but I'm not putting any hopes on it at all, nor am I going to ask. I'm already worried about being looked at as "2nd class"- I know probably nobody cares, but I read some trip reports awhile back about a CM or two who were snotty to the SoG guests at the Contemporary. Anyway, thanks again for your wishes!! I can't believe we will be there in just about 50 hours!

Alice,

I hope if you ever run into that attitude that you report it immediately. Staying as a SOG member means that you or your armed services family member deserves all of our thanks, especially at a time our country is facing.

Thanks for being there for all of us, and please have a magical time :) J

I have stayed at the CR once and really enjoyed that resort. I will definitely stay there again.

I never FAX a resort ahead of time, I only make a room view request when I book my room. For the CR, I asked for a "Magic Kingdom" view room. When I checked in, I found out that my request had been granted.
