Requesting Dining Rotation

I just called Disney and requested a specific dining rotation and she put that in the notes on our reservations, but she also reminded me that they will try and meet it but it isn't guaranteed.

Hopefully we will get our requests met, but if not maybe if we can catch it fast enough and have my dad and husband go make the changes to what we would like to have. My mother and I have also put them in charge of getting the Palo reservation and making sure we are at the same table during our dining rotations. We had a mishap on our last cruise, where we were arranged to sit at different tables. Luckly my dad caught it and got it fixed. That would have been awful if my husband and I weren't able to sit at a table with my parents, especially since this was a family vacation.

My mother and I are going to the spa to make reservations for massages while our husbands are taking care of the dining requests.

When you get aboard you might feel rushed trying to get your reservations in, but it is worth it in the end.

I requesed a dining rotation on the 1/4 Magic and it was not granted (called 2 months ahead...was put in the notes on the ressie). It is a hit or miss thing...just don't count on it. Be happy with the rotation you get or change it once onboard if you can.

what are the different rotations, and are some dining rooms more formal thatn others (other than palos)?

Thanks

When I was on board, I asked both the headwaiter (Stephanie) and Guest Services about making dining rotation requests as I did not get what I thought I wanted. Both told me that they really do not honor them...there is no way that they can do that when trying to do seating for 2500 people every week. (After doing my wedding, I think I can empathise, and I only had 150 people!!) They said that if someone truly is dissatisfied with their rotation, it is best handled on board. Bottom line though, is that I thought I wanted a certain rotation based on my research on these boards, but once on the ship, it did not matter at all. We had formal night in Parrot Cay and it was great!

With respect to being assured of sitting with other members of your traveling party, you can link your reservations together and then you will be all but guaranteed to be seated together.

Honestly, having it noted on your reservation does NO GOOD whatsoever. They simply cannot accept requests for dining rotations. They can defnitely link reservations for dining but there is no system in place to request dining rotations. They just note it as it is a nicety to the guest, but it is impossible to monitor and honor dining rotation requests.

That said, it does not matter one iota which rotation you get, I've had them all and they all are fine. :)

What matters is your dining SEATING TIME and you most definitely can request the seating time you want and if it's not available, waitlist for you what you want and/or try to switch it once onboard.

Thanks for theeat rotation chart.
Whatever we get, I'm sure it will be great.

You all are right about linking the rooms together for dining together, but we have found that, that can also not get honored. So, my suggestion is to check on your tickets to make sure that you are sitting together. We had them linked together last year but somehow our party was split up, they fixed it right on the first night (we were happy they were so fast on getting us together).

I knew that we were most likely not going to get our request for dining rotation, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try.

:)

I was a concierge guest, and requested a dining rotation theough them. I didn't get what I had requested as far as a rotation, but I did get the late seating I had requested as well as the "no children under 13 at my table" request.
