Requesting a room

I'm wondering about requesting a specific room for our next trip. I know that a request is just a request, it doesn't mean you'll get it. But I'd like to do what we can to improve our chances.

Is it better to request a certain room # or a certain section? And should we do it when we make our reservation or call at a later date close to the trip and then ask again at check in?

Our 7 month window is coming up in 13 days and we're going to try and get BCV. :cool1: I know there are only certain 2 bedroom villas with (2) queen size beds as opposed to 1 queen and 1 pull out couch, but they are spread out over the villas.

What do you think is the best way to ask for this? :confused3

You are better off with general area requests. Those 2-bedrooms at BCV are booking categories not requests.

Two queens is a booking category, not a request. So you just book it - if its available at seven months. Which it USUALLY isn't, but you can sometimes get lucky.

As Crisi said, the dedicated two bedrooms are a booking category, not a request. As far as requesting a particular room location, there really aren't a whole lot of options at BCV. We have overlooked the pool and did enjoy that view, while others have said it has been too noisy for them. :)

I didn't realize that they were their own category. I just look on the point calculator on the DVC website and saw 2 bedroom. Does anyone know where I can find out how many points the 2 bedroom with 2 queens would be for our dates? Thanks!

All two bedroom villas at BCV are the same number of points.

You have almost no chance of getting a 2 queen bed room at 7 months out for all but the slowest of times. You might be able to get a dedicated 2 BR with a queen and pull out queen as opposed to the 2 normal queen beds or the lockoff which has a pull out full size (love seat).

Well we're going to give it a try at least! We are going in the middle of January - slow time.

Just to let you know, if 2 Queens is more important than location, that all 2 bedroom villas at OKW have 2 Queen beds in the 2nd bedroom, including lock-off units.

It will be interesting to see what happens with my specific room request. Reserving at AKV-Jambo in a Value studio, the CM told me they wouldn't take view requests when I wanted to request "savannah view". However, she said it was no problem to request a specific room. So I requested one I know is savannah view. I'll find out what happens in September.

The problem I see with requesting a specific room number is the assigner won't know why you wanted that specific room. So if it's not available, they will probably just assign any available room.

We requested a specific building at OKW and got it for this trip. Not a specific villa, though.

I'd ask for a specific room number, possibly two, always works for me, I love that room, they should name it Uncle Remus' room. :lmao:

Good luck, OP. :goodvibes

If a 2 bedroom w/2 queens is not available when you call, you can waitlist for it.
