We have a 2 bed - traded in with RCI.

Is there a "best" location to request? "best" view?

thanks!

VWL views are predominantly trees, with an obstructed view of the lake if you're on the backside of the villas building. However, there are 2BRs near the pool, and I've had a couple that looked out over the pool, and you could see a small bit of the lake, as well. So, I'd ask for something close to the pool. Regardless, I think you'll love VWL. Then again, I'm quite partial. . .;)

We stayed at VWL in a 2 bedroom in January of 2010 and loved it. We have stayed here at other times also. This time we were on the fifth floor (top) and we did request that, and we were at the end of the hallway in the second from last room. We faced the lake and it was a pretty view through the trees and very quiet. We felt like we were in the movie The Shining with the long hallways.:rotfl2: For five days we never saw anyone on our floor except for our last day when we were checking out. It was a little strange. I know others were on our floor, but we never saw anyone. We love VWL. I think it is so nice there. Have a great trip.

should we requesta high floor as opposed to a lower floor?

also can anyone help me out with these transpo issues, i think i have most of them ...

Disney quest/DTD - bus to DTD

Cape May Cafe Dinner (Beach Club) - NO IDEA

Water parks - bus

Ohana/Kona - boat to MK or CR and walk/monorail

Epcot - bus

MK - boat

1900 Park Fare - NO IDEA

Boardwalk- NO IDEA

thanks

now i have to figure out how to get everywhere!
Well, getting around WDW is easy. The signage is quite obvious and helpful is you're driving your own vehicle. If you plan to take buses, then just leave it up to them. ;) One of the nicer things about VWL is that you are close to MK via boat. The boats can get crowded toward the end of the day (especially once MK closes), but they're a wonderful way to relax on the trip back to your rooms. The buses have always worked well for me there, too, though I usually have a car so I'll drive vice bus most places. :thumbsup2

I'd ask for what I call an 'atrium' two bedroom villa. You might not get it, but if you do, I don't think you'll be disappointed as the location is close to the elevators.

I would ask for second through fourth floors, as the higher floors have balconies that are a bit awkward (just find a picture of the Villas and you can see what I mean).

VWL is very close to the transportation hub and the Poly. You can catch buses to either of those and take the monorail for a few places. The others are bus-able, as well, though it may take a bit of switching.

who do i call to request a location?

and maybe you guys know, who do i call to add DDP?

If you want to solely use Disney transportation, you will have to go from VWL to a "hub" first (park or DTD) in order to get to another resort. This is how I would do it.

Cape May Cafe---take bus to Epcot or DTD. If you go to Epcot, you will need to take your park ticket in order to walk thru Epcot and out the International Gateway. From there you can take a boat or walk to the Beach Club and Cape May Cafe. It you go to DTD, just catch the next bus to Beach Club.

Kona Cafe---Just did this myself last week. Took boat to CR, then monorail to Poly.

1900 Park Fair---Same as Kona Cafe. Boat to CR, then monorail to Grand Floridian.

Boardwalk---Same as Cape May Cafe, but substitute Boardwalk for Beach Club.

Hope this helps!

Disney quest/DTD - bus to DTD

Cape May Cafe Dinner (Beach Club) - NO IDEA take the bus to Studios - then either walk or take the boat to BC - walking is faster - but the boat can be fun

Water parks - bus downtown bus for TL, AK bus for BB

Ohana/Kona - boat to MK or CR and walk/monorail they are both at Polyn - so you can boat to CR and take the monrail to the Polyn, or you can boat to the MK and take the boat to the Polyn

Epcot - bus

MK - boat there is a bus too

1900 Park Fare - NO IDEA again boat to CR and take the monrail to GF or boat to the MK and take the boat to the GF

Boardwalk- NO IDEA
take the bus to Studios then take the boat or walk to BWV - walking is really best for this one - just depends upon you

the reason you are going to Studios instead of Epcot for the Epcot resorts is they are located on the other side of Epcot. so it would take one of your day passes to get to the Epcot resorts. now if you have used a pass that day and have a park hopper - or annual pass - then go to Epcot and simply walk to both the BC and BWV.

We are staying at VWL in July and a helpful CM told me that you can get to GF by taking the bus to either Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach or to Downtown Disney. The next stop on the bus will be GF.

Yes, this is correct. I had forgotten about that aspect of the bus schedules.

The boat to the contemporary or the magic kingdom, followed by the monorail from the contemporary to the gf or the boat from the mm to the gf may be faster than the bus loop.

Mike, I don't think that's the case. If you hop on a bus on AK or DTD, the next stop on the bus will be GF to pick up additional passengers before heading to AK/DTD. I would think this ride should take no more than 10 minutes - not counting waiting time for the bus.

I posted a question on the transportation board regarding bus transportation from WL and got some pretty good responses. Please see link below.
