Requesting a ground floor unit

On our last stay to the BW, we had a ground floor Standard view. We loved it. It made us feel like the whole grounds were our balcony.

We would like to request a ground floor unit with a preferred view of the pools so we could just walk out of the room to the quiet or Luna pool.

Has anyone ever stayed in one of these rooms? Pros - Cons

Has anyone ever been successful in requesting one of these rooms?

I don't think you can easily walk out of your room to one of the pools at the BWV. IIRC, there was quite a bit of landscaping around the ground floor patios and also between the rooms and the two pools. It might just be me, but I'd feel a little funny walking through flower beds and shrubs to get to a pool.

Also, I don't think you can lock the patio door from the outside, but I suppose you could just keep an eye on your door from the pool or take turns at the pool. JMHO. YMMV.

We had a ground floor one bedroom facing the luna park pool. YOu don't exactly get a view of it, lots of shrubery. With the bushes there there was no cutting through to get to the pool, you had to walk around anyway.

I guess it's all in the luck of the draw. We had a studio about two years ago right across from the quiet pool. We had a large gap in the shrubs which made it quite easy to get to the pool and clubhouse. We loved being on the ground floor and never worried about not locking the patio door.
